Our Allergy Story... |
MADISON, ISABELL & ALEX WITH THEIR NEW LABRADOODLE PUPPY |
The "Page" family had emailed us in 2009 saying they were looking for a Labradoodle because they had heard they were a good dog for fmailies with allergies. Mrs. Page had grown up with dogs all of her life without allergy issues, until she found out that with each pregnancy she had had, she was finding allergy symptoms becoming worse after each of her babies were born. When they were doing their research, they would try and find labradoodles in "Pet Stores"...and she found out she would have allergic reactions to those Labradoodles she would play with. She was heartbroken, as well as her husband who also had grown up with many large dog breeds in his childhood. He was also desperate to find a great family dog for his family of 5. When they came over for a visit we were very nervous. Why? ..well we have a first generation Labradoodle named Kelsey. Her gentle fun loving people pleaser attitude is wonderful , but she has a bit of a "shedding" issue. |
Then there is Monet & Finnegan |
They are both F1B Labradodles and even though they do not shed, she could still have a reaction. |
..And then we have "Kozmo" our standard poodle who does not shed, ahh he would be our standby and we would direct them to get a poodle if all else failed....but Mr. Page really did not want a poodle...until he saw Kozmo in action.... |
So with all the mix of dogs it was impossible to do a complete test so she went for it and started with Kozmo, hmmm no reaction, then Finnegan...no reaction, then with Monet...she tried to stay away from Kelsey at first .... then she played ball with them all throwing the ball ,all returning the ball her rubbing the ball all over her arms and hands, and after 2 hours of play...we were thrilled that she had no reaction to any of the dogs.... All was good with the prospect of finally being able to welcome a new Labradoodle into their wonderful family with their 3 girls....and so they adopted a beautiful Male dog from Autumn's March 2010 Litter. They named him "CHANCE" because it was by Chance that they could have him.... We think they should have called him "Miracle"...but thats a bit weird...so "Chance" it is...He is so lucky to have so many warm hearts that lavish attention on him....Good Boy Chance... |
and this is what they wrote to us on May 28, 2010 |
